2023 Spring Family Campout

Join the 64th Brandywine for our annual spring family campout. Campout is for registered 64th Brandywine scouts and their families only. Timberwolves should arrive on Friday and camp for 2 nights, and Otters should arrive Saturday by 9:00am, and will camp for 1 night. If you do not want to camp overnight, you can also register for Saturday only, arrive by 9:00am to participate for the day.

Meals on Saturday (all day) and Sunday morning will be prepared in camp. Please indicate any allergies or restrictions at signup. If arriving Friday, please bring your own pre-prepared meal to eat after setup.

Required gear:

• Tent (additional ground cover suggested)
• Sleeping bag & pillow
• Change(s) of clothing, including scout uniform and sturdy shoes
• Mess kit (reusable dishes and utensils)
• Water bottle

Suggested additional gear:

• Camp chair
• Rain gear
• Fishing rod & tackle

The scout group has limited loaner items, so if you need any of the items above, please contact your leader.

During our campout, we are planning to go canoeing on Chambers Lake. We will have Coast Guard certified personal floatation devices (PFDs) to wear, but if you have your own PFD, you may prefer to bring it. ALL participants in canoeing will be required to wear PFDs, regardless of age or swimming ability.

Deadline to register is Sunday, April 9. This allows leaders and volunteers to prepare food and activities for all. Make sure to indicate any allergies or special needs on the registration form.

Please remember that ALL adults at camp must complete background clearances. This means that parents/guardians who wish to attend must either register with the scout group in advance as Rovers or Non-Rover Adult Support, or provide their 3-part PA background checks as explained at https://64thbrandywine.org/members/clearances-background-checks/. This ensures that all adults at the campout—not just leaders—have had background clearances.
